Bill Haltom, Life Fellow, was named as the 2024 recipient of the Tennessee Bar Association’s William M. Leech Jr. Public Service Award. The award will be presented on June 14th.
The award seeks to recognize those with outstanding service to the profession, the legal system and their community and is named for the former attorney general and is presented by the Fellows of the TBA Young Lawyers division. Haltom served as the TBA vice president in 2003 and as its president from 2005-2006.
He retired in 2018, from Lewis Thomason, where his practice focused on the areas of medical and legal malpractice defense, personal injury litigation, business litigation, health care law and media law. In retirement, he has continued to stay active as a continuing education speaker and as a writer for numerous legal publications.
