Professor Anthony Johnstone, Montana Fellow, and Arun Subramanian, New York Patron Fellow, were both announced as President Biden’s intended nominees for two federal judicial roles. Professor Johnstone is the nominee to the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and Subramanian is the nominee to the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Johnstone currently serves as a professor of law and as an affiliated professor of public administration at University of Montana’s Blewett School of Law. Prior to joining the School of Law, he served as the Solicitor for the State of Montana and was an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York, NY.
Subramanian is currently a partner at Susman Godfrey out of their New York office. He also is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and is the 2022 Chairperson of the Pro Bono Committee. Subramanian has served as a longtime Director of the Columbia Law Review.
