Shammara Henderson, New Mexico Fellow and former Attorney at Freedman Boyd Hollander Goldberg Urias & Ward P.A, has become the first African American appointed to the New Mexico Court of Appeals. Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham appointed Henderson who will replace Judge Monica Zamora, a historic decision over 100 years in the making. “Black lawyers, Black law students, women lawyers, women law students and anybody really, if they put their mind out there and say that they can accomplish these things, they can do it,” Henderson said.
