She previously served on the board of the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) and ultimately became chair of the board.
The organization most recently hosted their “Call It My House” 40-hour Program at Triumph Church in Detroit, which was sponsored by Wayne County Treasurer Eric Sabree. Students in the program are called Student CEO’s and they begin the program with a profession and income and walks through life’s milestones as they prepare to purchase their first “mock” homes. They also take a bus tour with realtors to see different neighborhoods and think about how much house they can afford.
