Paul Lee, Life Fellow, was announced as this year’s recipient of the Richard A. Soden Public Service Award. The award was presented to Lee at the John & Abigail Adams Benefit on April 6.
The award was recently renamed for the late Richard A. Soden, a Life Fellow of the ABF, in honor of his exemplary leadership in community service and philanthropy. Soden was known for becoming one of the first African Americans elected to partnership at a large Boston law firm in 1979 and was also the President of the Boston Bar Association, Boston Bar Foundation, and the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association.
Lee is a retired partner with Goodwin Proctor, where he worked out of their Boston office. Prior to retirement, he concentrated on corporate and securities law and represented high technology and financial services companies. He helped to found the Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts (AALAM) after being encouraged by Soden.
