Michelle Behnke, Life Fellow, became ABA President-Elect at the conclusion of the ABA Annual Meeting in Chicago. She will assume the role of ABA President in August 2025 at the conclusion of Bill Bay’s term.
She’s been involved with the ABA in different forms, such as serving as the Treasurer of the ABA from 2017-2020 and following her time there, she chaired the ABA Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession. She also previously served on the ABA Board of Governors 2010-2013, including serving as Chair of Operations and Communications Committee of the Board.
Behnke is currently a member of the Boardman Clark law firm in Madison, Wisconsin. Prior to joining the firm, she was the principal of the firm Michelle Behnke & Associates, where her practice focused on She was also elected to membership in the American College of Real Estate Lawyers.
