Michael Williams, Life Fellow, was elected as Vice Chair of the University of Missouri Board of Curators. His term took effect on January 1, 2025. The Board of Curators is the governing body of the University of Missouri and are all appointed by the governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate.
Williams was appointed to the board in 2023 by Gov. Mike Parson and served as the board chair in 2023. Williams is the founding partner of Williams Dirks Dameron, LLC, where he specializes in complex and class litigation and labor and employment law.
Williams was appointed by the Missouri Supreme Court to the Commission on Civil Justice Reform in 2018 and the Commission on Racial and Ethnic Fairness in 2015, where he continues to serve. In 2004, he became the first African American to serve on the Kansas Bar Association Board of Governors.
