Judge Bryant Yang, California Life Fellow, was honored at the Eastern Bar Association of Los Angeles County’s Holiday Luncheon.
The Eastern Bar Association of Los Angeles County was formed in 1917 as the Pomona Bar Association and had different iterations based on necessity and developing situations, like the location of the new courthouse for the East District of the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Once the courthouse was dedicated in 1969 in Pomona, two bar associations were no longer needed and the Eastern Bar Association of Los Angeles County came to exist as its current self.
Judge Yang is currently assigned to the Family Law Division of the Los Angeles County Superior Court. He was appointed to the bench by California Governor Gavin Newsome in November of 2020 and was the first Burmese American judge in the United States.
