John E. Echohawk, Life Fellow, was recently announced as University of Colorado Law School’s 2024 commencement ceremony speaker. The ceremony takes place on May 10th beginning at 10 a.m.
Mr. Echohawk is currently serving as the Executive Director of the Native American Rights Fund, a role he has held since 1977, along with being with the organization since its inception in 1970. He currently serves on the boards of the American Indian Resources Institute, the Association on American Indian Affairs, the Indigenous Language Institute, Natural Resources Defense Council, and the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development.
In 2023, he was awarded the 2023 Thurgood Marshall Award from the American Bar Association in recognition of his leadership in the Indian law field.
