James Casey, Wisconsin Life Fellow and Adjunct Associate Professor for the CUNY School of Professional Studies M.S. Program for Research Administration and Compliance, recently had an article published by the State Bar of Wisconsin entitled, “Civics, Voting, the STEM Disciplines, and the Future.” The article covers several important topics, but has a strong focus on the need for civics education and Resolution 108, passed by the ABA House of Delegates at the February 2020 Austin Midyear Meeting. The article suggests that given the events since November 2020, and especially the January 6, 2021, insurrection, more civics education and purposeful engagement are needed.
