Featured Keynote: “Incarceration of Fathers, State Investment in Families, and Educational Success of Children” with John Hagan (ABF Research Professor; John D. MacArthur Professor of Sociology and Law, Northwestern University)

The U.S. leads the world in per capita incarceration, with parents making up about half of all adults imprisoned. Moreover, there is great variation in state investment in families and school programs. Professor Hagan’s research tracks children of incarcerated parents from adolescence to adulthood and shows major impacts of state and school investments for post-secondary educational success.
