Brooks R. Smith, Life Fellow, authored a treatise on real property law in the state of Tennessee. The treatise was published by LexisNexis/Matthew Bender and the next volume is already being worked on, which will address real estate finance and foreclosure and will provide annual updates.
It discusses estates in land, deeds and conveyances, leasing, the recording system, title, and title insurance, as well as the important role that a real estate broker plays in navigating these issues.
Smith is currently a partner at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP practicing in the Nashville office and he most recently served as the chair of the firm’s real estate, finance and banking practice group. In addition to being a Fellow of the ABF, he is a Fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys and of the Nashville Bar Association.
