The ABF partners with the AccessLex Institute to support Postdoctoral scholars who are studying issues of access, affordability, or value in legal and higher education.
ABF Postdoctoral Fellows have the opportunity to develop their research agenda by transforming their dissertation into a series of articles or a book manuscript and ideally publish at least one journal article. They may also mentor Doctoral Fellows and Summer Undergraduate Research Fellows and participate as Associate Editors of the ABF’s peer-reviewed journal, Law & Social Inquiry. Fellowships last up to 24 months, contingent on continued funding.
To further support professional relationships, the ABF will host annual summer alumni workshops. We will also host professional development seminars about securing grants, navigating the job market, and publishing in law review and peer-reviewed journals. The workshops will ensure that ABF Postdoctoral Fellows continue to receive the intellectual and institutional support that is necessary in the early years of an academic or research career, particularly when one’s interest is in a burgeoning interdisciplinary area like legal and higher education scholarship.
